Rector Search

Search for the Next Rector of St. Mark's

After 5 1/2 years, our previous Rector, The Rev. Tom Sramek, Jr., accepted a call to another parish. His last day was Sunday, May 1, 2022. We are thus in the early stages of our transition to a new Rector which will culminate in a call to Rev. Tom's successor. That search process generally takes at least a year. In the first few months we will have the benefit of Fr. Tony Hutchinson, retired Rector of Trinity, Ashland, who has agreed to be our "supply priest" and lead services. The Vestry is in the process of seeking an Interim Rector who will function as Rector during this transition period. Also during this transition period, a Profile Committee (to create the Parish Profile, a document describing the parish and the priest who we hope to call) and a Search Committee (to manage the search process) will be formed. Please feel free to contact Senior Warden Jan Martin by clicking here if you have any questions about the process.

While we will miss our departing Rector, we are excited about the possibilities for new energy and vision that the search process provides. Stay tuned!
