Election Day Reflection
Greetings on what may be the most contested Election Day our nation remembers. After years of rhetoric from all parties who have been entrusted to lead all Americans, refugees, and hopeful immigrants to our nation, we arrive at Election Day 2024.
There is anxiety, worry, and concern across most of our nation – especially those who occupy a place near the middle of the political spectrum – among those who wonder if the nation we have created and occupy will be the same tomorrow. Honestly, I can’t guarantee what tomorrow brings in many things, but I can assure you that there is hope for all of us – because God will be with us just like yesterday, today, and tomorrow.
I offer to you a video to ponder today and in the coming days. It is the sermon offered at St. Bartholomew’s church in New York by The Rt. Rev. Mark D. W. Edington, Bishop-in-Charge of the Convocation of Episcopal Churches in Europe on All Saints’ Sunday. He relates some of French History (where his cathedral is), how the saints of today are likely different than the saints of yesterday, and how the Christian community can change lives in the middle of the strife we feel today. https://www.youtube.com/watch?app=desktop&v=ymhfJImNEyw&t=2s
May you be blessed as you navigate the unknown times in our future.
Peace,
Les+
